How much you overpay on a 10% commission — and when a flat fee wins

SASemyon Akhrameev·August 20, 2026·3 min read

If you sell access to a paid Telegram channel or group, you're almost certainly handing over 10% of every sale. It's the market standard: Tribute, some InviteMember tiers, dozens of bots — all take a cut. Feels small. Until you do the math.

I built TribeSync on a different model: a flat platform fee and 0% commission on your sales. Here's the honest case for why, who it's for, who it isn't for yet, and where the catch is.

The simple math that changes everything

A 10% commission is harmless on small numbers. But it grows with your success — exactly when you least want to share.

Selling $500/month? 10% is $50 — already more than our Pro plan ($39). At $1,000 it's $100/mo. At $5,000 it's $500 every month for the same product.

TribeSync is a flat $9, $29 or $39/mo depending on volume — and it doesn't change whether you grow or not. The point where flat beats 10% arrives at roughly $390/mo in revenue. Everything above that is money that a commission would siphon off but that stays with you here.

Don't take my word for it — calculate your own savings: drag the slider to your revenue and see the difference in your numbers.

Why we can afford 0%

Because we don't touch your money. In commission services the payment flows through the platform — it holds the funds, so it takes a cut. We're different:

  • Telegram Stars go through Telegram directly.
  • Crypto (USDT/TON via Crypto Pay) lands straight in your wallet — we're not a middleman and hold nothing.

We earn from a subscription to the tool, not a slice of your turnover. A useful side effect: since we don't custody funds, there's nothing for us to run off with. A service can't "disappear with your money" if the money never reaches it.

What you get besides zero commission

  • Paid access to private channels and groups via Stars or crypto, one-off or recurring.
  • Group moderation — on every plan, not an upsell.
  • Mini App and web panel — manage subscribers, prices and stats from anywhere.
  • RU/EN bilingual for you and your subscribers.

Honestly: who doesn't need this yet

I won't pretend TribeSync is the answer to everything.

If your sales are still small (say under $300–400/mo), a 10% commission may cost less in absolute terms than a flat fee. We become the better deal as you grow — that's a deliberate model choice.

If Telegram's native subscriptions are enough for you — they're built in and need no setup. But they have limits: Stars only (and Apple/Google take 30% on the Star purchase — which applies to any platform, including us, on the Stars path), no moderation, no CRM or filters, no single panel across multiple chats. The crypto path, by the way, is the only way to sidestep the 30% store cut: money goes directly, no App Store or Google Play.

Who TribeSync fits perfectly

  • You already sell and feel the 10% eating your margin.
  • You need both sales and moderation in one place.
  • You want to accept crypto without a KYC merchant account or store tax.
  • You want the money to go straight to you.

A little transparency

I run TribeSync solo. That means I personally read every support message, fix what you find quickly, and hear directly what's missing. There will be rough edges at launch — every shipping product has them. But the model is honest, the product works, and the money is yours and stays yours.
