Recurring vs one-off subscriptions
How auto-renewal works, and how subscribers cancel.
Updated: July 24, 2026
TribeSync supports two billing styles per plan.
Recurring (monthly, Stars)
Telegram charges the subscriber automatically every month. Access keeps extending on its own — no reminders needed. The subscriber cancels anytime in Telegram → Settings → Telegram Stars → Subscriptions.
One-off (fixed period)
A single payment for a set number of days. This covers yearly Stars and all crypto payments. When it's about to expire, the subscriber gets a reminder with a Renew button (if your plan includes reminders).
For recurring Stars, Telegram sends a fresh payment each cycle and TribeSync extends access to the new expiry it reports — it never shortens a longer paid period. Crypto is always one-off (there's no auto-charge), so crypto renewals are manual.
Recurring maximizes retention (no action needed to stay). One-off (especially yearly) gives you cash upfront. Offering both lets subscribers choose.
Next: accept crypto.
