Disconnect or replace a bot
What happens to sales, subscribers and auto-renewals when you disconnect a bot, and how to bring it back.
Updated: October 22, 2026
Disconnecting frees a slot on your plan, for example to connect a different bot. You don't lose the bot for good: you can bring it back.
How to disconnect
- Open Subscriptions and find the bot card.
- Tap "Disconnect bot".
- Read the warning and tap "Yes, disconnect".
If the bot has subscribers with time left, the warning shows how many there are and how many auto-renew.
What happens after you disconnect
- Sales stop. The bot no longer sells or renews access.
- Stars auto-renewals are cancelled. Subscribers won't be charged again.
- Subscribers get a message about it. Only those whose term hasn't ended yet receive it.
- Nobody is removed from the chat. Not right away and not after their term ends: people stay in the chat for free. You'll have to remove them manually.
- Payment questions from subscribers will come to you.
- The slot frees up, so you can connect another bot.
The bot stays an administrator in your channel or group. If you no longer need it there, remove it from the chat yourself in Telegram settings.
How to bring the bot back
Connect the same bot again, with the same token or after regenerating it in @BotFather. Its plans and subscribers come back as they were. You need a free slot on your plan for this.
Auto-renewals cancelled on disconnect don't switch back on by themselves. A subscriber can turn renewal on again in their Telegram subscriptions.
All of this applies only when you disconnect with the button in TribeSync. If you delete the bot in @BotFather, change its token without reconnecting, or delete the channel itself, TribeSync loses control of the bot and can't do anything for you.
