The bot won't accept my channel or group

Usually a public-chat issue: make it private and add the bot again.

If the bot declines your chat, the wizard shows the reason right away on the Chat step. The chat type is almost always the cause.

Checklist

  • Public channel → not supported. Make it private (remove the public link) and add the bot again.
  • Public group → works only for moderation only. For paid access, make it private.
  • Added as member, not admin → see that fix.
  • The bot is already connected to another chat → one bot serves one community. Create a new bot for this chat or disconnect the bot from the old chat first.
